The George Washington Silver Commemorative half-dollar was minted in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the birth of George Washington. Specifications: 1.205" diameter with reeded edge .4019 troy oz .900 silver, .001 copper Minted in San Francisco, it bears an "S" mint mark. It was the first 90% silver US coin to be minted since 1964 and the first commemorative coin to be produced since 1954.
