BNAPEX 2010 is in Victoria

Back to Newsletter index

Welcome to our 200th newsletter! We are pleased to take the space and the opportunity to let everyone knw that The British North America Philatelic Society convention this year will be held in Victoria. The last time a BNAPEX was held in BC was ten years ago in Vernon.

The convention hotel is the Fairmont Empress and some of the meetings will be at the Victoria Conference Centre. Coincidentally, the first stamp of 'British Columbia and Vancouver's Island', the 2 1/2 pence dull rose of a young Queen Victoria was issued exactly 150 years ago, which bestows a decidedly historical theme to the convention.

The convention is being held over Labour Day Weekend, which is one of the busiest of the year for BC Ferries, so locals know what to do, walk on, or make a reservation. Go to the BC Ferries web site for more information.

BNAPS has put together a very comprehensive web site with all the information you need.

Several commemorative covers have been prepared and can be ordered to be mailed out after the event.
